Chihuahua, Mexico

We packed up at Neuvo Casas Grandes and headed for the City of Chihuahua. Highway 10 was recommended as a route as it a Toll Road and in much better condition.

The number of semi’s on the road is mind boggling. Busy moving product of all kinds across the country.

The City of Chihuahua was my first experience driving in a major city in Mexico. Everyone is going incredibly fast! But the road etiquette between drivers is amazing.

We were booked in for two nights at the Doroteo Hotel Boutique, which is within walking distance of the downtown core. And as we found out the next day, walking distance to many attractions. An added bonus is that our bikes could be parked in a compound that is locked at night.

Exploring the Downtown Core

After getting unloaded and settled in our rooms, we ventured out for a walk to the downtown core.

The architecture of the buildings in the downtown is spectacular. It is hard to imagine how they achieved the fine intricate details so long ago. The Cathedral towers over the Main Plaza in the Centro.

Doroteo Hotel Boutique

If you ever plan a trip to the City of Chihuahua, we highly recommend staying at the Doroteo Hotel Boutique. It is a very quaint and beautiful hotel. The eight rooms are themed around the character Pancho Villa. Each theme represents an important part of his life.

The staff provide top notch customer service. Gabby, the manager, is very proud of her Hotel and is ready to give tours when the rooms are open.
