Exploring the City of Chihuahua
The City of Chihuahua has many museums, sights, and attractions to explore. We decided to take a break from riding, stay put an extra day, and walk to the sights that interested us.
Quinta Gameros
The Quintos Gameros Mansion is a historic National Monument of Mexico. It took three years to build, 1907-1910. When the Mexican Revolution started, the Gameros family fled to the United States in 1913. They returned to the mansion in 1921, and resided in it until 1926 when it was sold . Unfortunately, the Gameros family spent only a total of six years in their mansion.
Tren Chepe Express
Then we walked to the Tren Chepel Express Station. The full route is a nine hour ride covering over 350 kilometers of spectacular views of mainland Mexico. There are three different levels of comfort and service to experience. The train on select days of the week.
Museo Historico De La Revolucion
Next on the tour list was Museo Historico De La Revolucion. Francis was very interested in checking out this museum. In the end, all three of us were impressed by the number of displays, and the displays themselves.
