Ajijic
One of the first things I did when we arrived in Ajijic, was to clarify the pronunciation. And I surprised myself in getting it correct. Pronunciation is “Ahihik”.
The original morning plan was to ride to the city of Tequila and stay there the night. But after taking a lot longer on a backroad of gravel, rock, and cobblestone we shortened the trip to stay in Ajijic instead.
Francis had gone ahead and James and I were to meet him at the hotel in Ajijic. There was a bit of a conflict with the GPS directions and so it took a few tries to find Francis and the hotel. Lesson learned…try to use a couple of different direction navigations, even if it is a pain in the butt.
Hotel Italo was a great place to stay. Close to the City Square, spacious rooms, and we were instructed to ride our bikes right into the hotel…and into a banquet room. Most secure parking so far on the adventure lol.
The Malecon
The walk on the Malecon at sunset was stunning. The sky took on a blueish, purple, pink hue reflecting off of the lake. We will be back to Ajijic to explore and enjoy it again.
Next…The West Coast…
