Exploring Leavenworth
Day 2 was a non-ride, relaxing day to sleep in a bit and then explore downtown Leavenworth. We had breakfast at the campsite before heading out. I got to try out my new Jet Boil, a birthday gift from my son and daughter-in-law. Food cooked at a campsite always tastes much better…
Even though it was incredibly hot, we decided to walk to the downtown core. That short distance began to feel like 1,000’s of kms in the heat. Along the way, passed this new tourist attraction…a Tesla charging station.
There are so many unique, interesting themed stores, bakeries, restaurants, wineries, and pubs with craft beer. I just had to go into the Kris Kringl Christmas Store. And of course one of the motorcycle ornaments had to come home with me.
Another must stop, and favorite of mine, is Icicle Brewing Company for a warm pretzel and cheese dip with a flight of their own craft beer. A must go to if you are ever visiting Leavenworth!
Even our iced coffee and tea drinks could not cool us down for the walk back to our campsite. So we hopped on the free shuttle that took us to the Safeway across the highway from the Alpine Campsite.
Tomorrow….On the Road Again…
