Day 20, 21 & 22 -Leavenworth, WA

Day 20 and we were off and riding to our final destination of our trip, Leavenworth, Washington. We stayed in Leavenworth for the first time in 2018 and absolutely loved it. Due to the July 4th holiday in the U.S., the campsite we wanted to stay at, Alpine View RV Park, required a three night minimum stay…..oh darn haha!! Took highways 97 and 2 to get there from Culver, OR.

For day two of our stay in Leavenworth we rode around the area and checked out Wenatchee. Larger city than we expected and a nice ride there and back. Couldn’t resist checking out our favorite store, Costco hahaha. Discovered a few differences in items available, the alcohol they sell, and their food court selections and sizes. Was shocked by the portion sizes compared to the Costco’s in Canada.

Our last day in Leavenworth was a special one. It was my birthday and I said to James, “For my birthday I want to us to park the bikes, walk to the downtown area and enjoy pretzels and beer at Icicle Brewery.” The warm, melt in your mouth pretzels with warm Beecher’s cheese sauce were just as delicious as last year. Icicle Brewery is a definite must visit when in Leavenworth. Seating is tricky because it is so busy at the Brewery so we shared a table with a family. They recommended a place called Stein, only two blocks away. We made our way over, checking out the variety of stores as we went. Stein has a crazy number of selection of beers and ciders, just under 60. We couldn’t decide which “one” to try, so we shared a dark flight to have some variety and they were all great. We finished our downtown exploration checking out more stores and a stop at the Milbrandt winery taste testing outlet……very nice wine and bought a couple of bottles to take back to our campsite.
