One More Sleep

The stay at Copper Canyon Inn was restful. The beds are pillowy soft and you sink in just like it is a big marshmallow. Rooms are quite large, walking distance to restaurants, but a bit pricey at this time of year.

When the Stator was replaced in Francis’s bike, they did not change the battery. This was concerning to Francis considering where this trip was going to be taking us. The oil light had also started coming on intermittently. So Francis planned to leave early to get to AEO Powersports, in Mesa, when they opened for the day.

James and I left Camp Verde two hours after Francis. Once the tech had a look at Francis’s Husqvarna, we would know if any further work was necessary, or if we could continue on.

Cactus Country

When we headed out, the landscaping continued on with the mountains in the distance and the low, desert type shrubs on the flat terrain.

Then, slowly, cactus plants started showing up. And the numbers continually increased as we rode on. The tall variety stand tall and proud reaching for the sky. Amazing configurations of “fingers’. No two looked exactly the same.

Very interesting at the number of varieties of cactus all in that same area. From the round leafed low variety. To the tall “multi-fingered” variety. To the ones similar to a shrub but with stocks full of dangerous needles.

All Clear

The terrain gradually turned back into flat land again and the cactus slowly disappeared. James and I arrived in Mesa and headed to AEO Powersports to meet up with Francis. His bike had been looked at and he was ready to go. We were off to Sierra Vista for our last night in the United States.
