Rebel’s “Doctor Appt”…

Now that the decision was made to experience this adventure, Rebel was the first on the To Do List. Needed a check over, prepping, and some mechanical work completed.

The owners manual recommended a valve check and regular maintenance at the km’s I was at. And I decided to replace the chain, sprockets, and rear tire before the trip started instead of during. I suspect a lot less hassle doing these at home before leaving lol.

Trailered Rebel up to Courtenay Motorsports, in Courtenay, B.C., since the bike needs to be stone cold for the valve check.

Technician Laine hard at work for five hours tackling my work order and getting Rebel prepped for the adventure.

Hmmmm…maybe I need to take a motorcycle mechanics course so I can understand what is going on in there? Hahahaha….

A huge, huge thank you to the crew at Courtenay Motorsports for going above and beyond in customer service. Service Advisor Simon and Technician Laine took great care and did great work on my Rebel 500.

Thank you to Kevin in parts for the spectacular deal on my parts, and for the donation of a throttle lock and ROK Straps for this adventure. I really appreciate it!!

Next on the To Do List…
